Welcome to tedee!
Now that you have successfully paired your devices, it is time to get familiar with its basic functions and how to securely use them.

Upon entering the app you will be greeted by the following screen:
You are now able to interact with your paired devices by selecting them from the list. Let’s begin with the lock.
In the middle of the screen, your device will display its current position, with two buttons – for locking and unlocking, underneath. Below the buttons, there is another panel, which we will come back to later.
The status of your lock can be either of the following:
Locked - From here you can open your lock and pull the handle remotely.
Unlocked – You are able to close your lock or pull the latch.
Disconnected – Displayed when your devices are struggling to communicate properly. This can also happen when the lock has been turned off. When the lock is disconnected you will be unable to perform any actions remotely and your lock will only be operable manually.
Uncalibrated - This screen will only appear when tedee has been fully disconnected and requires rebooting. Usually when the battery loses its charge or during the initial setup. Very rarely, this can also be triggered if the lock moves unexpectedly. When uncalibrated the lock still allows force unlocking, allowing you to open the door without using a physical key. Force unlocking ensures that the doors are always operable and prevents safety hazards (such as being locked-out). Finally, the settings icon will display an alert that calibration is required.
Now, let's take a look at the bottom panel.
The buttons, starting from the left, are as follows:
Access sharing – This is where you can add other users and set their access levels.
Settings - This where you can name your device, examine the general status of the device, find its firmware version, and perform maintenance tasks. Additional options for how the lock should behave can also be found here along with the options to calibrate or the option to remove the device from your account.
Activity tab - Used to monitor your activity in detail. You can find a full list of actions and time of the operations performed by users. Previously completed maintenance tasks will also be listed here.
Once installed and connected your lock needs to be calibrated. Since it is required during the initial setup this section can be used as a general reference. Nonetheless to ensure that the device operates securely and the mechanism is configured safely, please follow the instructions below.
To calibrate your lock, enter the respective lock settings by pressing the gear icon on the bottom panel.
1. Once in the lock settings menu, press calibrate.
2. Now a tutorial will appear on how to calibrate your lock.
3. The app will help you configure your device to recognize its locked, unlocked, and pulled positions. Once completed your lock is secure and ready to use.

Locking & Unlocking
You most likely know how basic locking and unlocking works: simply press one of the two buttons and let the device do the rest.
Locking and unlocking can also be performed manually in three ways: using the lock as a doorknob, by turning it from the inside; locking and unlocking by pressing the button on the lock; and finally, using a standard key from the outside.
To add new users to your lock, first select your desired device on the starting screen then press the access sharing menu located on the bottom panel.
This screen lists the users with whom you have shared access to your lock. The button in the top allows you to begin sharing access with additional users.
Press Whom to invite and enter your new user’s email address. Remember that this invite will result in the guest being able to open your door. Always make sure to only invite users that you trust to ensure your house stays secure.
Now, you can go back to the Access Sharing menu to set the type of user. You have the following to choose from:
Guest – This will be able to use the lock according to the permission you set, but will not be able to manage other users.
Admin – The user will be able to change lock settings and manage other users, but will not be able to remove the lock from your account and take over. This ensures that the original user is always the owner and his locks stay secure.
You now can decide the type of access the user should have. It can be one of the following:
Permanent - a user can operate the lock at any time.
Time-restricted - access is restricted to a set period. Once expired, the user’s access is revoked.
Recurring - permission to operate the lock is granted on a recurring weekly basis. This option can also include a time restriction.
Finally, remote locking and unlocking can restrict the user to Bluetooth range when it is set OFF. This prevents a guest from taking advantage of the lock’s remote operation over WIFI.
Once you are satisfied with the settings, press “Share access”. The new user is now listed in the access menu.
This section goes over the general tab in the device setting menu. Select the device you wish to check-up on or edit from the starting screen.
Now enter the settings screen by pressing the gear icon on the bottom panel. Then enter General.
Here you can change the name of the device, manage push notifications, and manually update the firmware. Remember that keep your device and app up to date with the newest version of our firmware ensures optimal security when using the product.
Finally, should you find yourself in need of assistance, there is a built-in Help section in the app.
On the start screen that, lists devices tied to your account, press the context menu. A sliding panel will appear with the Help section.
Here you will find FAQs, direct support, and contact details.
Finally, there is one option we would like to highlight: device logs. Device diagnostic log is a file that contains information needed by our support team to troubleshoot errors in the app.
In the unlikely event that you encounter a problem, tedee support may ask you for device logs.
To send them, press Show logs in the Help menu, then press the “Share” in the top right corner. Choose the option to send using email to email@example.com.
Include the time of the incident and a brief description of the issue, ideally with screen captures that illustrate the problem.
